Description

The CS range softeners make simplicity their strong point. They have a volumetric valve and can be programmed with four types of regeneration: mixed time/volume regeneration, timed chronometric, immediate volumetric, delayed volumetric. Timed chronometric - after the programmed number of days, Immediate volumetric - when a certain quantity of water passes, Delayed volumetric - from the volume of water and the programmed time, Mixed time/volume volumetric - similar to delayed regeneration, but allows you to program a safety regeneration after the programmed number of days. The operations necessary to ensure that the system works correctly are only to check that it is connected to the electricity supply and that there is a sufficient quantity of salt. The only requirements for installation are the connection to electricity and three pipes (inlet, outlet, drain). Bypass and mixer valve to adjust the output hardness included in the system. CE, NSF, D.M. certified product 25, Ministerial Decree 174.

Characteristics

* Min. pressure: 1.4 bar(1.4 kg/cm2)

* Max. pressure: 8.6 bar(8.6 kg/cm2)

* Min temperature: 4°C

* Max temperature: 43°C

Hardness in water (limescale)

Expressed in °F (French degrees), it can be measured with drops of Titrant, which is important for determining the choice of type of softener and optimizing salt consumption.

Calculation example to determine the correct item

A 25 liter resin softener with a hardness of 40°F (medium-high hardness) develops 3,500 liters of softened water (140:40=3,500). In this case it is necessary to program 3,500 m3 in the treatment capacity of the softener using the buttons on the display and the softener will deliver lime-free water at zero French degrees.

Output hardness adjustment

It is advisable not to supply fully softened water in domestic installations. The CS range softeners have an integrated residual hardness regulator which allows you to precisely adjust the hardness of the treated water. To adjust the residual hardness you need to delicately open the MIX valve regulator. All water softeners are supplied with this valve fully closed and will therefore deliver water at 0°F. For water intended for human consumption, a residual hardness between 5 and 10ºF is recommended for copper pipes and between 8 and 10ºF for iron pipes. Depending on the programmed output hardness, the softener will tend to produce more softened water and less salt consumption because the input hardness must be compensated with the output value. A 25 liter resin softener with an inlet hardness of 40°F and an outlet hardness of 5°F develops 4,000 liters of softened water (140:35=4,000). In this case it is necessary to program 4.0m3 in the treatment capacity of the softener using the keys on the display. On average a person consumes 150 liters of water per day and a timed regeneration is recommended every 4/5 days, so a family of 4 with water at 40°F consumes for 5 days. 3,000 litres, therefore a 25 liter water softener with programmed regeneration can also be set to 6 days.

Benefits and advantages

Reduction of water hardness, which causes encrustations. ENERGY SAVING: the device prevents the formation of encrustations in pipes and ducts. Greater sense of well-being during the shower. Soft and clean skin. Increased life of household appliances and boilers. FINANCIAL SAVINGS: reduction in the use of soaps, fabric softeners and chemical products. Reduced maintenance costs. Fully automatic operation. You only need to worry about adding salt to the water softener.

Increased sodium(For drinking water)

Most of the sodium consumed is taken in with foods, especially those obtained through industrial processing. Salt is an excellent preservative and is therefore used as an additive for processed products. Sodium intake from the water we drink is relatively low compared to that from food. All softeners to produce softened water through ion exchange in the resins produce sodium ions in the softened water output. The recommended sodium limit for water intended for human consumption is 200 ppm liter. Depending on the sodium concentration and the hardness of the water, it is possible that the water has a higher sodium concentration than recommended. In cases where this occurs or if it is necessary to follow a low-salt diet, it is recommended to install a domestic reverse osmosis device for drinking water.
